SanLorenzo SD 126 – Introducing Simsim to the World
The Turkish owner welcomed his second Sanlorenzo yacht, Simsim, in 2017. This tri-deck cruiser was built from a GRP hull and superstructure being a fourteenth hull in the SD 126 series. The yacht was launched in Viareggio. This Italian town is a really interesting place for all yacht lovers as it concentrates the most famous ship builders companies in the world such as Perini Navi, Benetti or Sanlorenzo. This means Viareggio is a city that makes the most expensive boats in the world. Or as most of the yachts’ owner would say, the most expensive ‘toys’ in the world.
Simsim, the same as the other models of the SD 126 line was designed by Francesco Paszkowski.
This talented Florence-based superyacht designer is Sanlorenzo’s long-term partner. His passion for boats developed while he was studying. In 1990s he established Francesco Paszkowski Design Studio and has collaborated with several yards since. His Studio has won many awards, including the prestigious Best Exterior Design for the Sanlorenzo 40 alloy motor yacht Onyx at the World Superyacht Awards.
The SD 126 shares certain features with her sisters from the SD line, but it would not be Sanlorenzo, if they did not add some noteworthy updates. One of which is the salon terrace, it opens up the interior to the sea below. The dining salon can fully open to the aft deck. The outside and inside spaces are elegantly blended together.
This yacht can also boast the new bow seating lounge, a bigger fly bridge, really large windows and more spacious swim platform. It is clear that the Italian ship builder wants the owner and his guests to be more connected with the sea and the world outside the yacht.
The interior can be customized according to the owners’ personal requests and preferences, which is a service so typical for Sanlorenzo. Simsim’s luxurious interior for example, was extensively customised to fit her Turkish owner’s taste, with oak wood flooring and bespoke furniture. Whether it is marble, stainless steel, leather or any other detail, everything is possible upon the clients’ wish.
As it was mentioned before SD 126 can accommodate 10 guests in very generous 5 state rooms. There are main deck master, mirror VIP cabins and two twin staterooms. The guests can be sure the crew will take very good care of them, as there is a ratio of six crew members to ten guests. The crew is accommodated on the lower deck plus there is a berth for the captain on the upper deck.
What Is the Price of a Sanlorenzo SD 126?
Mr. Massimo Perotti, the owner of Sanlorenzo, proudly says: “If you want a piece of art, you go to Italy”. Sure, he is right, but to create an art needs time and it is definitely not cheap.
Sanlorenzo gives its clients total flexibility within the most stable platform around and SD 126 offers what nobody else could do in the yacht of this size.
The flexibility and willingness to fulfil the clients’ requests in order to create the yacht they could imprint their taste and personality into, became Sanlorenzo’s trademark. It means there is no Sanlorenzo yacht like the other, which also result in different prices of the same model in the market. The final costs reflect the customizations that have been done.
For example the new model of SD 126 that will be launched in 2018 is available for sale for 15,400,000 Euros (VAT is not stated). This particular SD 126 is being offered in Australian market and has maximum speed of 16.5 knots, while the cruising speed is 11 knots.
